Back to the list Why did you decide to enrol on the course?

Well I actually wanted to be a writer, but as writers say "You either make a little money, or a lot, and don't count on making a lot." I had seen advertisements on jobs for copywriters, and it seemed like serious money, so I looked into it. That was how I found the Institute.

Did you make any contact with the Institute before enrolling?

Actually yes, I sent a few emails to their head office with some questions (which I did get answers to).

What was your impression of your course when it arrived?

What struck me most was the foresight that these people had. Not only did they send me the course (and a book), but they sent me a Manual (condensed essential information from the course), a study plan sheet, Q&A sheets for the tutor, and even a document box with business-card slot for when I actually start working as a copywriter. Needless to say it was nice to know it was an actual course instead of being fake.

Did you consider any other courses?

Well, it wasn't until I was well into the copywriting course that I even knew they offered other courses. I may take one later.

Ultimately, what do you want to do?

I want copywriting to pay the bills, while I try and get published as a novelist otherwise. Copywriting is enough money to give me plenty of spare time to write or do other things.

How are you progressing with your course?

On the third assignment, gotten two A's sofar. It's not going as quickly as I would like it, but since it's at your own pace that would be purely my fault.

What might you say to someone who was thinking of enrolling on the course?

Copywriting isn't a field with a whole lot of certification. Most people have to get a degree in english, business, and various other fields, amounting to thousands of dollars. I didn't want to go that route, so I took this course. It offers a certification in a field where there isn't much --- giving you good chances of success from the beginning. The assignments themselves aren't merely intelligently constructed --- they're actual copywriting assignments, or were based on real copywriting assignments. So by the time you finish the course you don't need to wonder "Can I do this in the real world now?", because if you finished the course with decent marks, you ALREADY did it.

Is there anything else you’d like to add?

My tutor is helpful, and always responds within a day or two.
