Why did you decide to enrol on the course?

To enhance my ability to communicate through the written word and to add a new dimension to my current employment in Public Relations.

Did you make any contact with the Institute before enrolling?

Sure did! I too wanted to make sure the institute was "real". I was impressed with the assistance I received.

What was your impression of your course when it arrived?

Great! I was expecting to be overwhelmed but I wasn't. The course was simple (even enjoyable!) to read and the assignments are event fun and inspiring to do!

Did you consider any other courses?

There were no other courses like this! This course covers everything that I wanted to study including writing press releases, direct mail, radio ads and more. The only other avenue for me to study this would have been through a communications degree at University.

Ultimately, what do you want to do?

Become Public Affairs manager at major organisation. That's why I need to improve my skills in the areas the course covers.

How are you progressing with your course?

I'm going well. However I have hit a stumbling block. I tackled the first 5 assignments straight away and have now slowed down. This is due to lots of personal reasons such as moving interstate. The great thing about this course though is it self-paced. This means when I finally finish moving I can just pick up where I left off!

What might you say to someone who was thinking of enrolling on the course?

Do it! It's fun! The manual is easy to read and the tutors are great! I learn so much from every assignment and my tutor has a wonderful, positive way of encouraging you to think outside the square.

Is there anything else you'd like to add?

I'm very pleased I signed up for this course. The email updates are always handy (and a gentle reminder to get cracking on the next assignment!) The course is well structured and there is access to lots of skilled people when you need a bit of help.
