Why
did you decide to enrol on the course?
I enjoy writing and wanted to get into something more creative, challenging and rewarding by utilising my writing skills. I also thought that copywriting would be another "string to my bow" career-wise - looking ahead to the future and possibly making a business out of it. I also currently work in an advertising agency where writing copy is a useful skill to have.
Did you make any contact with the Institute before enrolling?
No - I just thoroughly read the website which answered all my questions.
What was your impression of your course when it arrived?
I was impressed - it looked professional, and the manual/text book etc is very comprehensive (good tools to have when copywriting).
Did you consider any other courses?
I looked at other courses both online and within New Zealand where I live, but nothing compared to the Institute of Copywriting's courses and what it covered.
Ultimately, what do you want to do?
Keep writing, utilising my new skills in my current job, with a long term goal of starting my own copywriting business.
What might you say
to someone who was thinking of enrolling on the course?
Go for it - I enjoyed completing the course, got great feedback from my tutor and got a real kick out of sending off my assignments - I felt like I was "using my brain" again!!
