I about 20 years of practical experience in writing as part of my marketing background. I wanted the diploma to ‘formalise’ my hands-on work, before going freelance.

I spent a fair bit of time looking at the website - & sent a couple of emails.

Very impressed. It is well laid out, easy to use & understand. The only comment I would make is it came across as being a bit dated, with references to word-processors & technology.

No … I had looked at the course content, the fact it was accredited & I could use the logo which were my key issues.

Freelance work - I’m focussing on my marketing at present.

What might you say to someone who was thinking of enrolling on the course?

Go for it, but be prepared to work hard and put in the effort. Make the most of your tutor’s comments; they’re valuable. Also …. think outside the box. If you think there are two ways of answering the question in the assignment … do them both. It’s preparation for the real world!
