Why did you decide to enrol on the course? ![]() I am already studying the American Writers and Artists "Michael Masterson" course. It is good, but very biased to an "American English" audience. I feel that it does not cater for copywriting within the UK market. In addition I was looking for an accredited UK version. I stumbled across a former student's web page containing your Diploma. Bingo! Just what I needed. Did you make any contact with the Institute before enrolling? Yes, I wanted to get further information and talk through my questions. I found it comforting to chat through my needs and get straight-forward answers. I got good friendly advice with no pressure to sign up. What was your impression of your course when it arrived? Very professional, quality binder, precise instructions and contact information. I felt part of a team, and not out on a limb. Did you consider any other courses? Unfortunately yes, I bought a complete set of courseware on 30 days approval. It was written in a very general way, with statements like " you need to write in a conversational style" without any help or examples. I suspect the author was a salesperson...but not a copywriter. In comparison, your course shines like a beacon. Ultimately, what do you want to do? I am moving to Spain, having a villa built overlooking a valley, and I will become a full time copywriter. How are you progressing with your course? I own a one-man business, and do a lot of travelling. I am not moving as fast as would like due to my availability to put in quality time. However, my personal tutor has been a great support. I view copywriting as an art and not just a "process". Slow but sure is ultimately better than quick and rushed. What might you say to someone who was thinking of enrolling on the course? Go for it, you have nothing to lose but you could gain a great career. I reckon my first two real-world assignments will easily cover the cost of the course. I am a tutor by profession ( not english...my grammar/spelling is below average). I know from experience that just like learning to drive a car, you need a structured approach before you can drive by instinct. This course gives you that first start. Be a Novice not an Amateur Is there anything else you’d like to add? Said it all! |
