Where to find a good copywriter

Institute's Database

We keep a comprehensive database of copywriters that you can search by country, region, medium and industry. Click here to go to the database.

Internet work exchanges

Sites like Elance and Guru are examples of online B2B freelance work exchanges where you can find a copywriter.

But their disadvantage is that you get proposals from all kinds of unqualified people in countries where English is not the first language.

Also, web designers and PR people add 'copywriting' to their on-line CV. So you'll need to check that the freelancer actually writes copy for a living.

Google search

Search for a copywriter on Google. Many copywriters have web pages that show up well in a search, because they use the word 'copywriting' a lot! But many web designers also throw in the word 'copywriting' because it adds weight to their list of services.

Advertising Agencies

You'll find copywriters in ad agencies, working either as employees or as a freelance.

But agencies usually want to sell you their other services, too; and they're usually more expensive (because they have nice offices to maintain).
