Because as well as it being a home study which allows you to work at your own pace, and provided internet help it was something to get me started in the career I would like to go in to.
Did you make any contact with the Institute before enrolling?
No.
What was your impression of the course when it arrived?
I was excited as there was a lot of information, the book which also included tasks as scenarios to think about along with the actual assignments ment I had plenty of things to do as well as an incentive to do my own reading and research into different difficulties that I may have known enough about.
Did you consider any other courses?
No.
Ultimately, what do you want to do?
I would like to go on to do psychology and work with either young adults, children or possibly go into prisons or Youth offenders, My ultimate goal would be to provide a place of sanctuary, a place for run a ways to stay so they are not on the streets and get help with maybe home life and help with their family. Or even support groups for young adults where they could meet up in groups to talk and share problems and also do fun activities with them to help them escape their problems.
What might you say to someone who was thinking of enrolling on the course?
I would say it a great course if home study is your only option due to say having children at home. And it can open up a whole new world of options to get you started in counseling.
