Case Studies - Diploma in Event Planning

Polly Corlett, Scotland

Why did you enrol on the course?

I wanted to learn something I could start my own business in.

Did you make any contact with the Institute before enrolling?

No I decided to go straight ahead with it because I felt the information on the website was enough for me to know it was the right course for me.

What was your impression of the course when it arrived?

Very well presented. Easy to understand.

Did you consider any other courses?

I considered Nail Technician because i thought this was something I could do.

Ultimately, what do you want to do?

I want to become an event planner with my own business.

How are you progressing with your course?

Very well. it is great because you can do it in your own time. Some weeks I submit 2 assignments and other weeks I don't submit any.

What might you say to someone who was thinking of enrolling on the course?

It is really interesting. It teaches you to look at things in more detail. The assignments are fun to do and not as hard as I thought. I was worried that because I have not studied in a few years I would find it difficult to complete it but it is done in a way which you can enjoy doing each assignment.

Is there anything else you’d like to add?

The only worry I had was being able to stick to the course after a few weeks but the more assignments I completed, the more I wanted to keep going.
