I decided to enrol on the course as I would like to have more confidence in designing my own garden.
Did you make any contact with the Institute before enrolling?
No.
What was your impression of the course when it arrived?
I was very impressed with the course contents and the way it was presented and well packaged. The main course folder appeared weighty and have a lot in it, but on closer inspection, all the course contents were printed on only one side of the paper. Presumably this is to make it look as if there is more to the course than there actually is.
Did you consider any other courses?
Yes. I looked at the web sites of various other courses, but they all appeared more expensive, and did not go into the business side of garden design. The ones that did cover business aspects were considerably more expensive.
Ultimately, what do you want to do?
I would like to be able to design my own garden confidently and possibly design for friends and relatives.
How are you progressing with your course?
I have completed Modules 1 and 2 and have nearly finished the third module. I am finding it difficult to find the time to set aside for the course. Hopefully as winter approaches I will be able to spend more time on the course.
What might you say to someone who was thinking of enrolling on the course?
I would say go for it, as it does seem the best course for the money and you do have the back-up if you do not understand anything and they are always keeping in contact by email.
