Why did you decide to enrol on the course?

I wanted to study in my own time and was interested in working from home so this course enabled me to focus on new skills and set aside a period of time for something interesting and new.

Did you make any contact with the Institute before enrolling?

Yes, I wrote and asked about how the course would enable me to work as a counsellor.

What was your impression of your course when it arrived?

Very well designed and thought out, however I have taken part in a basic counselling skills programme at a local HE college and may have been a bit confused had I not had experience of counselling beforehand.

Did you consider any other courses?

Yes, but not home tuition.

Ultimately, what do you want to do?

Run my own counselling practice.

How are you progressing with your course?

I am on module 6.

What might you say to someone who was thinking of enrolling on the course?

It is not accredited by the official counselling bodies of UK but it helps to give you an insight into counselling.

Is there anything else you'd like to add?

I feel that counsellors should practice safely, this course is good but you would need to be part of a ‘live’ course that involved you with experienced practitioners to give you more confidence.
